A skilled attorney and chemical engineer, Jennifer McCave is experienced at representing individuals, non-profit organizations, businesses and governmental entities in complex legal matters. She has handled every phase of litigation in state and federal courts in New Jersey, New York and Vermont — from case development through trials and appeals — as well as administrative agency proceedings, mediations and negotiations.
Jennifer has significant experience advising clients on regulatory compliance, drafting public comments, testifying at public hearings and advocating for public policy changes. She represents our clients in BPU-regulated industries before the board concerning regulatory and compliance matters, and provides valued counsel on the development of policy positions, strategy and tactics in retail and wholesale energy markets. Drawing on her background in chemical engineering and IT consulting, Jennifer works effectively with expert witnesses and excels at communicating complex legal, scientific and technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Representations include
- Acted as lead attorney for a non-profit collaborating with the New York Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Bureau to challenge Indian Point Energy Center’s relicensing application before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.
- Served as assistant manager of projects that involved providing legal guidance to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs regarding revisions to their National Environmental Policy Act regulations.
